Custom Whimsy Childhood Portrait
Custom portrait commissions are open for JUNE schedule!
Thank you for your interest in my custom portraits for children (or children at heart)! I am excited to create an heirloom piece for you that can be gifted and treasured.
These portraits can include up to four children, and are painted using traditional gouache, and detailed with pencil crayon and gold embellishment on archival 100% cotton cold pressed 140 lb watercolour paper. Paper size is 8”x10” and portrait is centred at approximately 5 x 6”.
The portrait is based off of one reference photo sent via email, to be interpreted in my artistic style. Each painting contains a border with botanicals, as well as a natural or magical element that celebrates childhood whimsy. There is so much room for inspiration here based off of the person’s interests, but here are a few ideas:
Birth flowers/stones or symbolic plants/fungi
Favourite animal, insect or mythical being
Books!
Elf ears, gnome hats, hobbit attire…
Once ordered, I will correspond about elements as well as colours and clothing. An initial sketch will be sent before the final step of painting.
Portraits are package with a sturdy board, compostable clear sleeve, and are ready to give as a gift, or hang right up on the wall.
